Heartford Hospice helped with my mom's care the last few months of her life. They could not have been better to work with. They were responsive, had excellent suggestions and ensured my mom was comfortable in the final months of her life. They lovingly bathed her twice a week even when they had to move her to bed baths. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking hospice services.
While hospice is never a happy experience for all those involved, it certainly is an important service for those in need. Heartford was recommended by the Assisted Care facility my mother was in and they were exceptional. Communication is key in providing compassionate, safe care for a loved one and Heartford proved themselves. All the staff was patient, kind, knowledgeable and most of all genuinely caring. I knew my mother was in good hands for the precious end of life experience.

Heartford Hospice very recently provided hospice service for my wife (JAN). I was extremely concerned about any hospice service as three years ago my Jan was in hospice and the service was terrible. Heartford Hospice was recommended to me by our assisted living facility where we are presently living. That recommendation was the best and most important recommendation our family ever had. Heartford took over and arranged my wife coming home from the hospital. When she arrived at home hospice had four staff members greeting her, and taking care of all her needs, supplies, oxygen, hospital bed, diapers breathing assistance and many other necessary items. Three staff members stayed for at least another hour making necessary arrangements before they left, leaving the RN there to monitor Jan's condition. From that moment on Heartford provided service that I never thought existed anywhere. Cheryl, Laura, Aileen, Michael and the entire staff responded immediately to my many calls regarding Jan's issues. The entire staff responded immediately to my many needs requests. Every item we needed was delivered to us within 2-3 hours upon request. A nurse was provided for the administration of critical drugs that were delivered. Jan had two baths/week and nurses two to three times/week or more if needed. When Jan passed Hospice made all the arrangements to have her transferred to the funeral home. Since that time Hospice has called me to see how I was doing. Cheryl and Laura have visited me several times to check on me! All the staff blended in like family members during the entire ordeal. I am 85 years old and have requested Heartford Hospice see me through my final days when they occur!
Extremely caring staff with excellent communication skills every step of the way. Highly recommend their services. Made the process easier considering the difficult circumstances we were dealing with.
